Interesting article Mara Einstein. I think you bring up a few interesting questions.
One, will subscribers return to Netflix shows after they’ve binged them? I would guess that Netflix would be thinking about rewatching as much as they think about what drives people to watch a show in the first place.
Two, will Netflix do as well globally as they’ve done here? Again, this is something they’ve been thinking about and doing for a long time, way back to 2003ish when they first started experimenting outside the US with their subscription.
Three how will consumers’ share of wallet evolve on their entertainment spend, and how much will Netflix get/keep?
